Yesterday evening, while Caleb was at work, the girls and I made the trek to Columbus to visit the restaurant one more time before it closes for the season. On our merry way, I took small glances at the Christmas lights as they whirred by. A few miles before town, as you crest a small hill and make a slight left curve, every year a family sits out a lit Three Wise Men. Upon seeing it, I was flooded with childhood memories of the joy and simplicity of my he first few Christmas seasons that I can remember. With the memories came the feelings of childhood wonder in my grandmothers Christmas lights and the lit Nativity scene she's set out almost every year since I can remember. That Nativity scene with its dim yellow glow. The peace that comes with those memories in the middle of a crazy, hectic life meant so much. It filled my Christmas-loving heart with bounds of joy. Immeasurable joy.
On another note, I've been knitting like a mad woman for what seems like months, but it's barely been two weeks. I've been buying my yarns and my newest needles locally, and I am so pleased with the quality of them. The all wool yarn I bought has the usually scratchy wool like quality, but it is so incredibly soft that it outweighs any inkling of that scratchy feeling. I have been gaining friends through knitting, and I am enjoying it. I have a very old friend, and by old I mean that I've known them forever (who delve into knitting long before I did) was stunned to learn of me picking up the glorious hobby, and I think it brought us that much closer together even though we live nearly 100 miles apart.
I think this concludes my soul searching. I have a slightly worse for wear 14-month old who is ready for bed and I've been writing this whole post through my phone. Good night world.

Giving Thanks...
As November draws to a close, I am becoming overwhelmed with how November just totally blew me away. I know I fizzled out on my "thanks" on Facebook after Thanksgiving, but the weekend was rough. The end of November has proved challenging for this little family, but with sacrifices come bigger and better things later on.
Today, I was exponentially thankful for anyone and everyone who has motivated me. I am thankful for those who love my girls, my husband, and myself. Today, especially, I was thankful for those who photography has led me to. Those who have led me, helped me along the way, and have let me spread my wings in the business. I've been grateful for those who have let me capture their memories and I look forward to it again next year.
God has a plan for what's troubled me lately and I know that he will bring goodness back to my life. My hardships are His hardships and I know that with Him, all things are possible.
On to other things, Friday we visited the tree farm so my in-laws could get their tree. I absolutely cannot wait to put our tree up this weekend. But until then, here's a few pictures from our tree farm visit. Have a good night!

A Wednesday.
Note: I participated in HollywoodHousewife.com's 'One Day 2012'. I tried to take as many images on Instagram as possible and my worn out self managed three. That's right...THREE. I love Instagram and if you are on Instagram my username is edrake90. Now to the post...
Our morning went well, I was awake early by a sweet little 13-month-old who is in love with her Cheerios.
After big sister, Evalyn, and daddy awoke, we each had a bowl of cereal and then left the apartment for Garcia's. (yum yum!)
Daddy has been eye-balling Jeeps lately and wanted to test drive one, so I stayed in the car with the girls while they watched Winnie the Pooh .
As you can see, my girls love simple things. Evalyn is holding a paint chip while Amelia is playing with a straw. Evalyn loves to look at her paint colors and pick out the colors she wants for her room. The blue she's holding is actually the color I like for Amelia's room. Amelia is my little owl, and Evalyn- my Bean. Evabean. Golly, I love these girls!
Our night went slow. Once daddy left for work, the girls and I took a spontaneous trip to my moms, which is over 50 miles away, at least. I'm not at all used to the time change and the sun being down by 6. The girls enjoyed the trip and once we got there, I took this next picture, marking our arrival.
That was also before I got gas for the car :)
Now, I'm watching The Office reruns and settling down for the night with my love since the girls are both asleep. (yay!)
It's now 39 minutes into Friday. Happy Friday to you! :)

Who I am...
Hello.
I'm Elizabeth Drake. I'm a (mostly) self taught photographer. In high school, I didn't quite understand the business, then I met my husband in 2008, who had a passion for the profession, and he got me hooked. Once we had our first daughter, I wanted to soak up every ounce of her in pictures. And so I did! From there grew my love for photography and there was no turning back. I did a little work as a hospital newborn photographer in 2011 before our second daughter was born, and since the early months of 2012 I've been mastering my craft with my Canon 5D Mark II. I love my camera and it has been along with me almost everywhere I go now. I tend to take quite a few images of my girls, but I've loved to every step of taking my hobby and turn it into this new growing "business baby" I've got.
If you have a moment, feel free to check out my facebook, my webpage, and if you have any questions at all you can email me here. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
